Annual Pilot Appreciation BBQ – May 11th, 2024

You’re invited! Mark your calendar to attend the Angel Flight BBQ and Annual Meeting. This is our way to say thank you to our Angel Flight pilots, volunteers, and their guests for their constant support and contributions throughout the year.

  • When: Saturday, May 11th, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
  • Where: Doug Vincent’s Hangar B-52 at Jones Riverside Airport (RVS)
  • Fly-in: Park at either of the two FBOs. Riverside Jet Center or Christiansen Aviation. They will help with transportation or we will send someone to pick you up.
  • Drive-in: 8605 S. Elwood Ave., Tulsa, OK. We have a designated parking area at the Picnic Pavilion with someone driving a shuttle.

It’s completely free and the BBQ provided by John Eagleton is ah-mazing! It’s a fun event to thank our volunteers and for others to learn more about Angel Flight.

Volunteer Help Wanted: Patient In-take Coordinator

Are you interested in a great volunteer opportunity?

Angel Flight Oklahoma is searching for a Patient In-take Coordinator. This rewarding part-time position works with our Pilot Coordinator to arrange Angel Flights for those needing air transportation to medical treatment.

This is a part-time, telecommuting position and would be perfect for a retired individual, college student, or any Angel Flight supporter.

Angel Flight Patient Coordinator:

  • Answers the Angel Flight phone
  • Checks Angel Flight email daily
  • Accepts applications or refers requests to other benevolent flying organizations
  • Enters information into the Angel Flight software program (AFIDS)
  • Fax or email paperwork to referring/treating physicians. Then follows up to ensure completion.
  • When a pilot is assigned to a mission, the coordinator notifies the patient they will be hearing from a pilot with flight time and airport location.
  • Mail brochure, patient guidelines, and other necessary information to new patients

Our dedicated Patient In-take Coordinators provide continuity for our patients by staying on call 24/7 whenever a patient needs us.

Tidings Magazine – “Displaying the Power of God”

Sixteen. A time of high school activities, beginning college plans and perhaps even dating. Stefanie Renkema was doing none of these things. After an injury on the basketball court while playing her favorite sport, Stefanie was experiencing pain in her lower back/ tailbone area. The continuing pain led Stefanie to her local doctor. Scans and biopsies later, Stefanie was diagnosed with a giant cell tumor, benign but aggressive, in her sacrum.
